Mutual data

Together, your data is an asset.

Your data works for everyone

Answers and orders feed the Commons Fund — a permanent fund for the neighbourhoods that built it. Your tokens are the record of what you put in.

Nobody has to guess what you need.

A shop serving a neighbourhood is mostly guessing — what to stock, how much, whether anyone will buy. Guessing is expensive: unsold stock, wasted trips, adverts to people who never wanted the thing. When households say what they need up front, that waste disappears — and that is where a better price comes from. Not squeezed out of anyone. Less guessing means less waste: fewer unsold goods, fewer wasted trips, a lighter footprint for the whole neighbourhood.

What you get

Tokens for every answer

A few seconds a day. They never expire, and they're yours.

A fair price, because nobody guessed

A seller who already knows the demand carries no unsold stock and buys no adverts.

A say in what's stocked

Sellers see what your area actually needs — not what a distributor assumed.

Every answer earns tokens. Every delivery earns more.

They never expire. They're yours.

Tokens are your record of what you put in. They give you a voice in how the fund's earnings are spent.

Your data should earn — for you and your neighbourhood.

That is what DataPay is for. Pooled, household data becomes product intelligence for sellers — what to make, how much, and where — so markets waste less. Households never pay. Here is what happens to every rupee DataPay earns.

First

A part runs the platform

Running, maintaining and developing DataPay.

Then

The rest goes into the Commons Fund

A permanent fund that no one owns and no one can withdraw — not members, not DataPay, not any buyer. The fund itself is never spent.

And only

What the fund earns is spent

Shared with the people who contributed and their neighbourhoods — paid out or left to grow, as each community decides. Over time it also backs loans and crop insurance for local farmers and producer groups.

The fund is being set up as a trust. Until then what your data earns is held, and nothing has been paid out.How the fund works →
